Need New Phone Systems? What To Look For

If you need to update the phone system throughout your commercial building and you aren't sure which features are important and what you really need, there are a few things you want to consider. You want to get away from the old-fashioned phones that have cords, and you want to make sure that you have a great voice message system. When looking at phone models, make sure that all of the phones have this option.

Handheld Wireless Options

Handheld wireless options that allow people to walk and move around their workspace freely are great, along with headset options. If someone can sit at their desk with a headset linked to their office phone system, it frees up their hands for other things and helps them be more comfortable. No one wants to be trapped to a phone cord and their desk.

Smart Answering Machines

You want all of the phones to have their own answering machines. The answering machines and systems should offer these things:

  • The system calls the staff member's cell to let them know they have a message
  • Access to messages outside of the office
  • Personalized voicemail box recordings

These are just some of the features that you'll want so anyone can reach their messages at any time. The alerts to let someone know they have messages in their office message box are also helpful.

Transcribing Technology

There are new answering systems that can transcribe the voice messages that are left on your phone, and then these messages are emailed to you. This way, if you are on a conference call, you can still see your messages, or you can read them if you are somewhere that you don't have access to your cell phone but you can read emails on a tablet or computer. This can also be installed at a later time.

Upgrading the phones will help your staff work more efficiently, it's going to help them manage their messages and get your messages quickly when needed, and it will help your staff work more comfortably when they aren't chained to a corded phone. There are a lot of different phones and phone systems that you can get estimates for, so get an accurate count for the amount of phones you need in your building, and the technology that is needed for the answering systems, and then pick the best deal and package for your needs. About Me

adding a phone line for a teen's personal use

When I took my daughter's cell phone off of her, I had no idea how much my life would be inconvenienced. Every single time I went to use the phone, she was on it. I wasn't sure if she was doing it on purpose trying to get me to give her the cell phone back, but I wasn't going to give in. I decided to have a second phone line installed in the house. I found that this was a much cheaper alternative than using a cell phone to make calls from home. Adding the second line and dedicating it to my daughter's use has helped us out so much that she may even be able to get her cell phone back without going over her usage limit.
